This grand and spacious room is a meticulous recreation of the original Foundling Picture Gallery. It houses one of the stars of the collection: William Hogarth’s portrait of the Hospital’s founder Thomas Coram. Coram was shocked to see the effects of poverty on parents and children and reached out to artists, musicians and society women to create the Foundling Hospital as a place of hope and refuge.
With an impressive marble fireplace, this space is perfect for larger gatherings. You can host up to 150 guests for a drinks reception ideal for networking events, book launches or up to 120 guest theatre style for lectures or presentations
It can also be used as an enchanting setting for intimate recitals and performances. As an added highlight, our venue proudly houses a magnificent 1923 grand piano, ready to add a touch of grandeur to your event.
With flexible AV equipment available including a Samsung TV Screen, wireless microphones, speakers and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access, you can also host a spectacular daytime event in the grandeur of the Picture Gallery.
