Wheatsheaf Hall

The Wheatsheaf Hall has been a community venue since 1988 when members of the local community leased the building from the Council. It was awarded Grade II listed status in 1975 and is run by volunteers.

The three main spaces are in constant demand by choirs, orchestras, faith groups, exercise classes, fencing masters, and, of course, couples celebrating weddings.

A volunteer management committee manages and maintains the hall and is made up of representatives from the neighbouring Mawbey Brough and Wyvil Estates. Recently the committee has been joined by user groups, and some young professionals who are sharing their expertise to help guide the organisation through the process of becoming a registered charity.
